How to Build a 10-Minute Light Routine You Will Actually Keep

Most devices are not abandoned because they stopped working. They are abandoned because the routine was too ambitious for a Tuesday night.

1. Anchor it to something you already do

A routine needs a trigger. Pairing your session with something that already happens — the last ten minutes before sleep, the twenty minutes of a podcast, the time your coffee brews — removes the daily decision. If you have to remember it, you will eventually forget it.

2. Ten minutes is a real session

You do not need an hour. Most face mask routines sit between 10 and 20 minutes, three to four times a week. If you are starting out, begin at the shortest setting your device offers and build up. Consistency across weeks beats intensity in one evening.

3. Keep it where you can see it

A device in a drawer is a device you will not use. If your mask lives on the shelf next to your moisturiser, it becomes part of getting ready rather than a separate project.

4. Make it comfortable, or you will stop

  • Clean and dry skin first — makeup and heavy creams block light.
  • Adjust the strap so it sits close without pressing. A mask that leaves marks is not going to be worn tomorrow.
  • Start at the lower intensity if your skin runs warm or sensitive.
  • Follow with your usual moisturiser, not a new product. Keep one variable at a time.

What a sensible week looks like

Three sessions. The same time of day where you can manage it. Ten to twenty minutes each, at an intensity that feels warm rather than hot. That is the whole plan — there is nothing to buy each month and nothing to refill.

Safety

Do not use light devices on broken, irritated or freshly treated skin, and keep them out of reach of children. Our devices are general wellness products, not medical devices. If you are pregnant, photosensitive or under medical care, speak to a healthcare professional first, and stop if you notice any irritation.
