Choosing a Light Therapy Panel for a Small Space

Face masks fold into a drawer. Panels do not. If you live somewhere compact, the decision is really about how much space you are willing to give a device — and how you plan to stand in front of it.

Start with placement, not wattage

Decide where the panel will live before you buy it. It needs a clear standing distance in front of it — you are not meant to press against it — and a power socket nearby. A modest panel you actually stand in front of beats a large one that stays in its box because there is nowhere to put it.

How much power do you need?

  • 45–50W: a small panel or desk lamp for the face and upper body. Easy to store, easy to move between rooms.
  • 100–300W: the practical middle. Covers a torso when you stand in front of it, and stands on its own feet.
  • 1000W and above: full-body coverage. These are heavy, need real floor space, and are usually wheeled or wall-mounted.

Wattage is not a quality score. A well-spaced 300W panel will serve a home routine better than a 1500W unit you never stand in front of.

Stand, arm or floor?

Floor-standing panels with an adjustable arm give you the most flexibility: you can aim them at a face, a shoulder or a back without moving furniture. Wall brackets save floor space but fix the angle. Round-based lamps are the easiest to tuck beside a sofa or desk.

Small-space practicalities

  • Measure the footprint, including the stand. A 1.75m floor unit needs clearance in front as well as behind.
  • Check the cable length. It decides where the panel can actually stand.
  • Look for adjustable output. A dimmable panel can sit closer in a small room without feeling intense.
  • Check the wavelengths. Dual-band 660nm and 850nm covers both visible red and near-infrared in one device.

A word on expectations

Our panels are general wellness products, not medical devices, and are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease. Keep sessions comfortable rather than hot, and speak to a healthcare professional first if you are pregnant, photosensitive or under medical care.
